Quick answer
Adelaide Epoxy offers four epoxy flooring services across Adelaide and South Australia: flake floors for garages, metallic floors for feature spaces, commercial and industrial floors for businesses, and UV-stable outdoor floors for alfresco areas and pool surrounds. All start with a free on-site assessment.
Choose the right system for the space
Not every floor needs the same coating. A family garage that parks two cars every day has different needs from a pool surround that sits in the sun or a warehouse where forklifts run all shift. We offer four main systems, and each page below explains how it is built, where it works best and what to expect.
Garage Epoxy Flooring
The complete garage floor coating for Adelaide homes: grinding, repairs, flake and a topcoat built for hot tyres.
Flake Epoxy Floors
Speckled, textured and forgiving. The most popular garage system, with full flake broadcast and a hard clear topcoat.
Metallic Epoxy Floors
A decorative, high-gloss floor with swirling pearlescent pigment, suited to showpiece garages and living spaces.
Commercial & Industrial Epoxy
Heavy-duty and hygienic systems for warehouses, workshops, kitchens and retail, with line marking and coving.
Outdoor Epoxy Flooring
UV-stable, slip-aware systems for patios, driveways, verandahs and pool surrounds.
What every job includes
- A free on-site assessment of the slab, cracks, old coatings and moisture risk.
- Diamond grinding with dust extraction, not a light etch or a sweep.
- Crack, joint and oil treatment before the coating starts.
- A written scope that lists preparation, coats, topcoat and cure time.
- Clear walk-on and vehicle-return times for the floor.
- A final walkthrough and care instructions.
Not sure which system you need?
If you are trying to decide, our guides compare the options in plain language. Flake versus metallic sets out look, price and care. Epoxy versus polyaspartic explains UV and cure speed. Epoxy versus floor paint explains why cheap coatings peel, and epoxy versus polished concrete compares coating with polishing.
If you already know what you want, send a few photos and rough measurements through the quote form. For budgeting, the cost guide gives labelled typical Australian ranges and the factors that change a quote. Prefer to talk? Call 0421 443 213, Monday to Saturday between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
Where we work
Our services cover metropolitan Adelaide, the Hills, the northern and southern suburbs, the coast and regional South Australia. See the areas we serve page for suburb and town pages, including Glenelg, Norwood, Mount Barker, Salisbury and Gawler.
Frequently compared options
| If you want... | Look at... | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The most practical, forgiving garage floor | Flake epoxy | Texture hides dirt and tyre marks and costs less than decorative systems. |
| A showpiece finish | Metallic epoxy | Swirling pigment and depth make the floor a design feature. |
| A floor for forklifts, food or wash-down | Commercial and industrial | Heavy-duty builds, coving, line marking and anti-slip options. |
| A floor that handles sun and rain | Outdoor epoxy | UV-stable topcoats and slip-aware textures for exposed slabs. |
Residential and commercial: what changes
For homes, the priorities are usually appearance, grip, ease of cleaning and resistance to hot tyres. For businesses they are safety, hygiene, chemical resistance and downtime. The same family of materials serves both, but the specification, thickness and scheduling differ. A home garage might be done in a day or two with a flake system. A food-processing room might need coving, anti-slip aggregate, a fast-curing topcoat and a staged programme that allows other rooms to keep operating.
Budget and timing
Price depends on area, slab condition, preparation, system choice and access, which is why we quote after a free on-site assessment. If you want a feel for ranges before you call, the cost guide lists labelled typical Australian figures. Timing depends on the same factors plus the weather. Most household garages are done within a few days on site, and busy periods can mean a short wait for a start date, so it is worth getting in early if you have a deadline such as a house sale or a party.
Whichever service you need, you will get a written scope, a clear cure schedule and care instructions at handover. You can see the usual sequence in how an epoxy job works.
Questions to ask before you choose
- Will the floor see direct sun, and does the topcoat need to be UV-stable?
- Is wet-foot grip important, for example at a pool or a wet-entry garage?
- How heavy and how frequent is the traffic: cars, forklifts, pallet jacks, hot tyres?
- Will chemicals, fuels, wash-down water or food residues reach the floor?
- How long can the space be out of service while the floor cures?
- Is the slab sound, dry and flat, or will repairs be needed first?
Your answers to those six questions decide the specification far more than colour does. Bring them to the free assessment and we will translate them into a written scope.
